Santa Ruins
Santa, located within the borders of Dumanlı Village in the central district, is 72 km away from the city center. From the main tour route, you can follow the Yayladere Village road in the direction of Arzular Town in the central district, pass Kosdan Mountain, and then reach Taşköprü Plateau and from there Santa.
The settlement, founded by the Greeks in the 17th century, is important in terms of religion, trade and culture, and is also known to have been used as a shelter by Greek gangs. Santa, which is an "Archaeological and Natural Site" today, consists of seven neighborhoods, namely "Binatlı, Terzili, Zurnacili, Piştovlu, İşhanlı, Çinganli, Çakallı" and more than three hundred houses. There are single-story houses built entirely of stone in every neighborhood of the city, and at least one church, and a fountain in every street.
