Keçikale Castle

The castle is located 20 km east of the city center, to the right of the Gümüşhane-Bayburt highway. The castle has two roads. The road to the west is easier. But the entrance is from the east. The castle was restored jointly by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Gümüşhane Governorship in 2008.

The castle, built on a very steep cliff, is on the bedrock at an altitude of 1560 meters. The height of the walls of the castle, which measures 78x27 meters, is between 5-15 meters. There are water cisterns and storages in the northern and southern parts of the castle.
